Brow Lift

A heavy or sagging brow may make you appear tired, worried, or angry, even if you actually feel alert and happy.  A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, permanently repairs deep furrows and sagging tissue in your forehead, making you appear younger and more relaxed.  It allows your facial appearance to better correlate with your emotional state.

Who is it for?

A brow lift is for healthy adults who are concerned about advanced signs of aging on the upper third of their face: in their forehead and brow area. Sometimes a brow lift is performed at the same time as a facelift or eyelid lift.

What is treatment like?

A brow lift is an outpatient, often minimally-invasive surgery, performed under general anesthesia. It involves incisions around the hairline, through which our surgeons make your brow more smooth and firm.  Some swelling or bruising may take up to two weeks to resolve.

What are the risks?

All surgeries carry risks for medical complications. Don’t take aspirin, Advil, fish oil, or other blood thinners for a few weeks leading up to surgery, to avoid excessive bleeding. Your surgeon will more fully discuss all the risks.

What are the results?

Your eyes will appear bigger and more alert, and your expression will appear more relaxed. Your forehead and brow area will be more taut and appear more youthful. Your whole face will seem more open and refreshed. Though your face will continue to age, the effects of a brow lift will permanently take years off your appearance.
