Earlobe Repair

Earlobe Repair

An injury may result in split, torn, stretched, or asymmetrical earlobes. Earlobes can also sag and stretch due to the loss of collagen and elastin that comes with aging. If you’d like to continue wearing earrings, or you simply want to restore your earlobes to a more natural, youthful appearance, our plastic surgeons can perform an earlobe repair.

What is treatment like?

You’ll have local or general anesthesia, and the healed ends of the split earlobe will be cut away and then stitched together, leaving only a faint, linear scar. Sometimes a dermafiller is used after surgery, to restore volume. Usually, this procedure takes about 20 minutes, and there is no downtime.
