Gluteal Enhancement

Gluteal Enhancement

Age, gravity, and weight fluctuations can do a number on your buttocks, and leave you flatter or saggier than you want to be, even if you once had a gorgeous butt! A gluteal enhancement (augmentation) or a gluteal lift will enhance the size, shape, and contour of the buttocks and give you a fuller, better-defined butt. There will be no more loose skin, and everything will look and feel tighter and more toned. A gluteal enhancement (lift) will not make your butt bigger, but it will make it appear tighter and more toned. A gluteal fat transfer involves transferring fat from another part of the body to the buttocks, which may make your butt larger or enhance it’s shape.

Who is it for?

Healthy patients of any gender, who are bothered with the shape or asymmetry of their buttocks.

What is treatment like?

Treatment is an outpatient procedure and performed under general anesthesia. Fat will be liposuctioned off of a “donor” part of your body, using small incisions and local anesthesia. A small incision will be made on the buttock cheeks, and your donor fat will be transferred to the area to be enhanced.

What are the risks?

All surgeries carry risks for medical complications, which your surgeon will discuss with you. Gaining or losing weight may change the shape of your enhancement, and a small amount of the transferred fat may be absorbed by your body over time. Don’t take aspirin, Advil, fish oil, or other blood thinners for two weeks before and after surgery, to avoid bleeding and excessive bruising.

What are the results?

You’ll have an improved contour in your buttocks area. Final results may take up to one year to be fully visible.
