Your Role:

  • Greet patients as they arrive
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility prior to the appointment date
  • Gather any necessary authorizations and referrals for patients
  • Utilize electronic records system to update information
  • Collect and create new or updated patient information
  • Collect payment from patients at time of service
  • Schedule appointments and follow up visits for new and existing patients
  • Enter ICD10 procedure and diagnosis codes into electronic medical system
  • Answer the office phone and respond as needed
  • Return patient calls and perform call backs to ensure patient satisfaction
  • Balance money entered and collected daily
  • Track petty cash as needed
  • Respond to requests from patients and office staff as needed
  • Perform administrative duties such as shredding, copying, printing, and faxing
  • Perform housekeeping duties such as cleaning the waiting room and bathroom
  • Attend annual OSHA meetings and abide by OSHA, HIPAA, and other relevant medical office regulations

  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to make patients feel comfortable and welcome
  • Ability to multitask
  • Prior receptionist experience
  • Prior medical environment experience
  • Experience working with electronic medical records
  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to pass background check and drug test
