Dr. Ronald Sherman

After attending the University of Texas for a B.S. in Biology, Dr. Sherman completed the first year of his Masters in Microbiology at North Texas State University.  He continued at North Texas State University/Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine from 1972-1976.  In December of 1972, Dr. Sherman entered the U.S. Air Force as a Lieutenant. He then completed rotations at Osteopathic General Hospital in North Miami Beach from 1976-1977. Dr. Sherman served as General Medical Officer in the U.S. Air Force 1977-1980, ultimately receiving the Air Force Commendation Medal in 1979 for outstanding service at a top secret Air Force Base.

Following his stint in the US Air Force, Dr. Sherman went on to The University of New Mexico (Albuquerque) from 1980 to 1983 for his residency and additional dermatologic surgery training.  He was Chief Resident from 1982-1983.  Serving as Consultant Dermatologist and Dermatological Surgeon for MacDill Air Force Base from 1983 to 1985, Dr. Sherman was promoted to US Air Force Major in 1984.  In the same year, he became board certified by the American Board of Dermatology.

Since 1985, Dr. Sherman has settled in Florida and proudly served his community as a board certified dermatologist in Ormond Beach.   From 1985-2005, he acted as a hospital dermatology consultant for Halifax Medical Center where he also taught medical students, interns, and residents for the local University Medical Center affiliate. Dr. Sherman began receiving recognition for his expertise in dermatologic surgery, especially for his post skin cancer surgery results. During the 1990’s, he taught his peers advanced dermatologic surgery at conventions with the prestigious Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgeons.

Dr. Sherman is grateful to his patients for trusting him with their health and wellness over the last 35 years and looks forward to continuing to care for their dermatological needs for years to come.
