Jeuveau®

Jeuveau® is a botulinum toxin type A neurotoxin, like BOTOX® Cosmetic, but it is a distinct prescription product with its own formulation and dosing. It works by temporarily reducing the nerve signals that cause targeted facial muscles to contract and form expression lines. Jeuveau® is FDA approved to temporarily improve moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows, sometimes called the “11s,” in adults.

Who is it for?

Jeuveau® may be appropriate for adults who want to soften noticeable frown lines caused by repeated facial movement. Our providers will evaluate your facial anatomy, muscle movement, treatment history, and cosmetic goals to determine whether Jeuveau® is right for you.

Do not receive Jeuveau® if you have an infection at the planned injection site or have had an allergic reaction to Jeuveau®, one of its ingredients, or another botulinum toxin product. Tell your provider if you have a muscle or nerve disorder, difficulty swallowing or breathing, bleeding problems, or if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.

What is treatment like?

Jeuveau® is administered through a series of small injections into the targeted muscles. Treatment generally takes about 10–20 minutes and requires little to no downtime. Temporary tenderness, swelling, redness, or minor bruising may occur around the injection sites.

Tell your provider about all medications, vitamins, and supplements you take, particularly those that may increase bruising. Do not stop a prescribed medication unless instructed by the healthcare professional who prescribed it.

What are the results?

Some patients begin noticing improvement as early as two days after treatment. The treated muscles gradually relax, causing frown lines to appear smoother, with results that may last up to approximately four months. Individual results will vary.
